APPG: Ethnicity Pay Reporting Report
The All-Party Parliamentary Report we produced contains feedback from organisations on the barriers and feedback on the Government including ethnicity in pay reporting.
100% agree to including ethnicity
All survey respondents said that the Government should implement EPGR (142 completed survey), and 100% said it should be aligned to gender.
Quantative approach
“It will force companies to begin to collect data – which is essential to help highlight gaps and work to close them.”
Understanding intersectionality
EPGR gives the opportunity to look at intersectionality – gender and race, and identify further diversity and intersectionality disparities.
Getting the board engaged
“Gives much lacking buy-in from the board within organisations to create real change.” Respondents also said they need better support from their organisation to help disclosure rates.
Creating accountability
Organisations will have to be more transparent and be held accountable to improve if they are failing. It was advised to accompany data disclosure with an action plan.
Creating accountability
Need to communicate what data is used for and what the figures represent more clearly, for example, figures do not represent equal pay.
