The Ethnicity Awards, who are celebrating its 6th year this year, was created to drive ethnic inclusion. The impact of the awards can be showcased in the fantastic progress all of the previous nominees and winners has made and the platforms they’ve created.
Through a combination of evidence for business submissions and voting on public categories to determine the winners; combined with editorial and campaigning, the Ethnicity Awards works together with their audience, nominees and winners to inspire and motivate the public to be more ethnically inclusive.
The shortlist for the Ethnicity Awards 2024 was released today
The Ethnicity Awards, held in partnership with HSBC UK, celebrates the most influential Black, Asian and Ethnic communities in the UK with prestigious accolades celebrating their achievements and tireless work to promote diversity and inclusion.
Businesses, individuals and brands with an outstanding track record of promoting diversity will be recognised at the event with Tesco, KPMG, Channel 4 and Network Rail amongst those making this year’s shortlist. Charitable organisations including Purple Rain Collective, The Diversity Trust and Black Minds Matter are also up for awards.

The Ethnicity Awards were launched in 2018 to celebrate individuals and organisations that support Black, Asian and diverse Ethnic communities. Previous winners include music superstar Dionne Warwick, the outstanding employer Lloyd’s Banking Group, Little Mix singer Leigh Anne Pinnock, The network group Race Together – Nationwide building society, Manchester United footballer and social mobility campaigner Marcus Rashford, newsreader Moira Stuart and Labour MP Diane Abbot.
The Ethnicity Awards engages those who ensure equality, opportunity and fair treatment for all, regardless of ethnic background. The awards bring together communities, businesses and individuals to support a diverse Britain where everyone feels they can belong.
The Ethnicity Awards recognises and showcases individuals and organisations that work tirelessly to make a positive impact on diversity, equity and inclusion and who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the progress of inclusion of marginalised ethnic groups.
HSBC UK returns to headline partner the awards once again. Other awards partners include Warner Bros. Discovery, Lloyds Banking Group and National Grid.
The awards announces their 2024 shortlist ahead of the event in October
Voting is now open for the public categories at EthnicityAwards.com. Meanwhile, a distinguished panel of judges will carefully review submissions to select the winners in the business categories.
The Outstanding Employer Award will be determined based on the Investing in the Ethnicity Maturity Matrix, a tool designed to help organizations assess their progress in promoting ethnic diversity and identify opportunities to enhance inclusivity in the workplace.
