According to the Matrix, we have more employers publishing their Ethnicity Pay Gap. 62.8% of organisations voluntarily report on their ethnicity pay gap, with 32.6% providing a breakdown by ethnic group. This means that ethnicity pay gap will be new to many organisations in the UK, therefore opening organisations up to new challenges.

Why publish your pay gap?

Organisations who voluntarily publish their Ethnicity Pay Gap have found that this has supported their organisation as one that is inclusive of ethnic groups. The figures show transparency on representation and disparities throughout the business. And when supported with an action plan, measures can be reported back on by utilising accompanying diversity data.

Ethnicity Pay Gap Reporting is essential so that we can continue to move the dial on Ethnic Inclusion by encouraging:

  • Sharing of best practice between organisations regarding data collection and action planning
  • Accountability for organisations that have not previously been engaged with inclusion initiatives
  • Continued openness around diversity data collection and reporting
