Abigail Westfield exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond in the diversity and inclusion space. As a first-generation Caribbean woman and neurodivergent mother of two, she brings her lived experience into every initiative she leads.
Abigail, VML UK’s Inclusion, Equity and Belonging Manager, has driven meaningful change across the agency by launching UJIMA, a programme connecting Black employees in the UK with mentors to foster their professional and personal growth. She also introduced Belonging focus groups to the agency with the intention to better understand and improve the employee experience and has been an advocate of Noir, VML’s Black employee resource group.
Lastly, her dedication to social mobility extends to the next generation, as she mentors teenagers from diverse backgrounds and spearheads a two-week Incubator Programme, offering hands-on advertising experience to 16–18-year-olds. Abigail’s leadership and innovation continue to open doors for underrepresented communities across the creative industry.
