Plaxedes Makura

Plax leads Ashurst Advance’s contentious document review practice across the UK and EMEA, overseeing high-performing legal delivery teams. A passionate advocate for inclusion, diversity and belonging (IDB), she co-chairs the Glasgow office’s IDB committee and serves on the Ashurst Advance IDB steering group. Plax played a key role in launching Ashurst’s partnership with Black Professionals UK, the first of its kind in the legal sector. She regularly hosts and speaks at internal IDB events and has attended development programmes such as the Black Counsel Forum. Her efforts have earned her repeated recognition as a HERoes Future Female Leader and Top 20 Ethnically Diverse Role Model.
